Tight Jeans👖

 Tight Jeans👖

Tight Jeans is a short film directed by Destiny Ekaragha, who said that sometimes the best way to talk about dark things is in a funny way- and this idea is prevalent in this film.

Mise-en-scene: The three main characters are all wearing the same type of jeans, and the same kind of hoodie in different colours. By wearing the similar costumes, theyre sociologically grouped together. The first man who walks past is dressed in different jeans, with a darker hoodie. He's dressed differently which shows he's part of a different group.

This film has a satirical element, as the fact that it's written about men talking about their dicks by a woman, it gives it a sense of her making fun of them, rather than if it was written by a man, it would be less funny as that's what they're actually talking about.

Whilst still being a comedy, the film tackles serious issues in a satirical way. Within the jokes theres seeds of truth, such as when one of them says "we've populated the whole planet"- this has elements of teh truth to it, as most humanity did originate in Africa. They also discuss racial/sexual politics, talking about how white women want to have mixed race children.

Overall, I think this film is clever in the way it discusses serious issues whilst still keeping a light, funny feel. I also like how mise-en-scene is used to visually separate social groups within the film

Alvin🐿️

ALVIN🐿️

MUSIC: Because Alvin is such a cool guy, I think he'd listen to cool guy music, he'd be very into Kendrick Lamar and up to date on the Drake/Kendrick drama, and would go around shaming anybody who says they listen to Drake. He's also a bit of a narcissist so would spend a lot of time listening to his own songs

CAR: Alvin made a lot of money from his music career, and wants people to know that. Therefore, he'd drive a red Ferrari with a big yellow A on it to match his iconic hoodie. The seats would be lined with red velvet, and instead of making a beeping sound, the horn would be the sound of his chipmunk voice saying 'beep beep'

STEAK: Alvin wants to keep up his image as a cool guy, but we have to remember that he's still just a child. Therefore, he'd order his stake rare, with chips on the side to impress you, but when you weren't looking, he'd sneakily chuck the steak on the floor and just have chips for dinner.

PET: Alvin would have a whole room in his house filled with plants and logs and stuff where he'd keep his pet snake. The snake would be a 13 foot long boa constrictor, which you're not legally allowed to own but he's famous so can do what he wants. He has a snake because he likes to subvert expectations, as most people would assume that the snake would eat him because he's a chipmunk- but he has a top of the range snake whisperer who trained it for him.

FAVORITE FILM: Alvin and the chipmunks obviously.

HOUSE: Alvin has multiple homes all over the globe, but his main habitat is a 6 story house in Beverly Hills which is in the shape of a tree to remind him of his days in the forest, because although he claims that he left his days as a common animal behind for his true destiny- fame and fortune- Alvin still deep down craves the simplicity of his humble beginnings.

HOBBIES: When he's not selling out arenas, or recording his latest hit, Alvin enjoys going clubbing. He hits the club at about 6:30 PM and stays until the early hours of the morning when the club closes in order to maximize his club time. The DJ's usually notice that he's there and so play one of his songs. Alvin pretends to be embarrassed by this but deep down likes the attention.

FAVORITE BOOK: Alvin doesn't actually know how to read, because he's a chipmunk, and even if he did he wouldn't waste his time reading books. However, when an interviewer asks him what his favorite book is, he claims it's 1984 to impress them, because he thinks that makes him look intelligent.
